If you’re a recent grad (or soon-to-be grad), you’ve probably heard a lot of “guff” about life in the “real world.” It’s hard, you won’t find a job, and you’re destined to be in debt for the rest of your life.
Doesn’t paint a pretty picture, does it? Well, we’re here to change your perspective.
During the month of May, we are doing a special initiative called the Happy Grad Project. We will be featuring advice, inspiration, and real Happy Grads who love their life and career outside of college.
Project Goal
The goal of this project is to change the way college students and recent grads think about life in the “real world” so they can find the professional and personal happiness they want and deserve.
Happy Grad Pledges
Below are four pledges Happy Grads will take. Keep them in mind on your journey to happiness after college!
1. I will fight the negativity
I will fight the negativity surrounding my future. I will not submit to NST (negative self talk). I will not let myself or others tell me that I “can’t.”
2. I will manage my expectations
I understand that I need to earn my success. I will dream big, but I will also set manageable goals and expectations for myself.
3. I will not compare myself to others
I will not let others’ perceived success or failure affect my attitude about my future. I will not let jealousy affect my happiness.
4. I will embrace the experience
I understand that my life won’t be perfect, and that failing is a part of life. I will not let fear of failure control my actions. I will learn and grow from every mistake I make. I will hold myself accountable for my actions.
If you take these pledges, you will be on your way to becoming a Happy Grad. Don’t put off your happiness any longer!
